Lake of the Woods makes the city of Kenora one of the biggest and most popular vacation destinations in the central of Canada. Because of the Lake of the Woods you are able to feel the nature also in the city of Kenora. On the first of January 2000, the Tri-Municipal area consisting of Kenora, the Town of Keewatin, and the Town of Jaffray Melick amalgamated. Today the amalgamated towns are known as the City of Kenora.
